@philthatremains Low rise buildings everywhere, has more population than the entire country of Sweden and they wonder why housing is expensive and homeless are everywhere. Now compare that aerial view with Tokyo or Seoul.

@Cwg7791 @MAJTOURE During Reconstruction, there were also Freedmen Bureau's set up by the gov't that were to help in distributing supplies and land to these former slaves as well. It was partly successful, but many were discouraged from applying for it thru the actions of the KKK and such.

@Cwg7791 @MAJTOURE Partly correct. There was actually an Union reparations plan, it was called "40 acres and a mule" for every freed slave family. When it was pushed, Lincoln got his head blown off. So it ended up as you said, left up to the former slave owners and the Confederates states.

@MAJTOURE ...and then it all got muddled up from there. It pretty much ended up then as "you can discuss it with your former owners from here on" which the former slaves really didn't know how to negotiate since they were fine with being free, so they just ended up being sharecroppers. /2

@MAJTOURE IIRC, there was a reparations plan set forth by the Union, they called it "40 acres and a mule" to every freed slave family. However, those lands belonged to the Confederates and by then Lincoln got his head blown off... 1/

@MAJTOURE To be fair, my father was interned as a kid during WW2 and he did get reparations, but not me as a descendant who never was interned, nor was my mother who immigrated from Japan in to the US in the 1970s.

@BillFOXLA What do you expect from Metro, where they know the vast majority of low income transit dependent riders travels less than 5 miles, and yet they're subject to being ripped off as a cost per mile per frequent use basis under this flat rate fare system.

@Qernavak @sheannabana At $300 a year? Dude, you don't know how the game works with Dems. They're gonna jack up the rates to force everyone to change and if you can't afford a Tesla, you'll be forced to downgrade to a motorcycle and still pay $500 in registration fees.

@Qernavak @sheannabana And in most other countries, their mass transit system goes by a distance based model where shorter trips cost less than longer ones, instead of a dumb flat rate system. Ain't seeing that here either. And you expect me to believe they're gonna keep used car registration 1/

@Qernavak Ha! CA penalizes current gun owners, businessowners, grocery shoppers, etc. you don't think they'll penalize current car owners? In 15 years granted you'll be paying a lot more $300 in annual vehicle registration fees.

@sheannabana @Qernavak That alone calls out the BS that it will not be $300 for used gas prices 15 years from now. You think vehicle registration fees won't change to force people to change their habit away from gas powered cars? You're dumb as a brick and still don't get how the Dems game.

@sheannabana @Qernavak A Harley gets just about the same great MPG than your Prius and contributes less wear to the roads since it only has 2 wheels and weighs less, what basis does it justify that it should pay $500 in annual fees over your used car? 1/

@Qernavak If going by worldwide trend, the average car registration in Japan is over $1000 per year so yeah, your basis of $300 is baseless. or are we going to legalize Kei cars here and have a separate vehicle registration bracket for that?

@Qernavak If a motorcycle that gets better MPG than cars and contributes less wear and tear to roads is more expensive right now, what basis do you think you have that used gas-car registration will remain at $300 a year 15 years from now? Absolutely nothing.

@Qernavak Bahahahahhahahaha. It costs $500+ in registration already for a new motorcycle, dope. A mode of transit that is more fuel efficient than a car and puts less strains on roads already costs that much. They're not going to make used cars registration $300. 🙄
